About Dr. Millicent
Hello! My name is Dr. Millicent and I want to share a bit about who I am and what I do. I have had the opportunity to gain training in mental, physical, and community health, along with an understanding of the social and societal factors that influence these areas of well-being. As a writer, researcher, and healer, I bridge this training and education with spiritual healing practices to learn more about the connections between the mind, body, and spirit. In particular, I have and continue to explore how society functions in a way that disconnects us from our minds, bodies, and spirits, and how this disconnection can harm health, especially among Black women. In response to this, I am exploring the role of culturally-relevant mind-body practices in helping to restore the mind-body connection to promote healing and well-being.
